1 Big Mistake I Made When I Was First Getting Started In Web3 Writing

Like most beginners, I made a lot of mistakes when I first started working in web3.

But this was the biggest one, by far:

Not Niching Down

Here’s what happened:

When I first started my adventure in web3, I was fascinated by all aspects of the space.

  • DeFi
  • GameFi
  • Layer 1's
  • Layer 2's
  • Stablecoins
  • Tokenomics
  • Technical Analysis

These are all web3 niches. But you can’t learn them all.

The best thing to do:

  • Find your favorite niche that you love to learn
  • Obsess over it

But, it’s also worth acknowledging that making this mistake taught me a ton.

Niche down to blow up.

You always hear this on the internet, but it is true. Your niche doesn’t mean you’re stuck forever, it just means you’re starting somewhere. Having focus helps defeat “shiny object syndrome”.

You will be known for something, then you can branch out.

This is why I encourage everyone to see their mistakes (and “failures”) as necessary steps along the path.

There is always a lesson to be learned.
